Open year round to the trade, the High Point Design Center is unique because our showrooms are not all located in one building.  They can be found throughout the quaint downtown area of High Point.  Each showroom sets its own hours and policies, so please refer to our showroom page for more details and contact information.  Some newer members are not yet on the map.  Call them directly for directions if needed.  If you are new to the High Point Design Center, one of the best days to acquaint yourself with what we have to offer is the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Please refer to our events page for additional details.  Many of our member showrooms will be open all day without appointment requirements, and some may be offering special promotions or events.


PARKING INFORMATION

Parking is available on the street or in parking lots at all of our showrooms. If you are calling a showroom in advance of your visit, you could ask them the best place to park at that showroom.

  • Q: What must I bring as identification when visiting showrooms?
A: Because we sell to the trade only, you must present documentation to prove your type of business.  A business card, letterhead, and perhaps a copy of your resale certificate are good to have with you.  Individual showrooms may require a trade application to establish an account.
 

Q: How do showrooms price their merchandise?

A: Although most showrooms display retail prices between markets, some show dealer cost.  To avoid  confusion please contact the individual showrooms prior to your visit to confirm their pricing structure. 

 

Q: May I bring my customer with me to the showrooms?

A: Yes. Most showrooms welcome you to bring your client with you.  However, since some continue to display dealer cost, it is wise to ask about pricing shown before you come.

Q: What are the showroom hours? 

A: Each showroom sets their hours, which are listed in our directory and our member listing on this web site.  However, a general rule of thumb is to expect access during regular business hours, Monday through Friday. A call ahead to insure the showroom you would like to visit is available is highly recommended.

Q: Are there times that showrooms are not available?

A: Yes.  Availability may be affected by market preparations, factory vacations, and holidays.  Please check  our Member listing for standard operating times. An advance phone call is recommended. The week of July  4th is traditionally vacation time in the furniture industry, so some showrooms might be closed. Please call to  confirm.

 

Q: May I come to the showrooms at market as well as between markets?

A: Yes.  That is a good time to scout out new lines, learn about what is available, and to see new introductions.  However, the showroom manager will probably not be able to give you the individual attention you can expect between markets.

 

Q: How can I streamline my shopping trips to High Point?

A: Use our searchable data base.  Type in the product you are shopping for (i.e. bedroom, lamps, rugs, etc.) and you will receive a list of showrooms that carry that category.  The list can be printed so you can bring it along as a guide.

 

Q: May I purchase merchandise off the floor for immediate delivery?

A: Sometimes.  Most showrooms offer sample sales.  Often, certain items within one showroom will be available for sale, while others are not.  Don’t hesitate to ask if you have an immediate need.

 

Q: How much notice is needed to visit a showroom by appointment?

A: That varies. Generally a day or more is suggested, but don’t hesitate to call on the spur of the moment.  
 On many occasions a local manager can meet you with only a short notice. 

 

Q: Are children (and/or strollers) allowed in the showrooms?

A: Although they may be permitted in many of the showrooms, it is more productive to come without children.  Showroom shopping trips are usually very focused work time, which proves tiring for children, who then become distractions to the parent who is making serious decisions.

 

Q: Is there public transportation between showrooms?

A: No. However, street parking or lots are available free of charge at or near all member showrooms.
